From flowers to frogs Spring brings us new things to discover! Together we will learn about nature-based subjects while spending time outdoors. Please bring a lunch and snack and dress for the outdoors! Pre-registration, Membership and health forms required.

Turtle Tot June Mini Camp:

One week session from June 13-17th, 2016

Summer is here and that means fun at the Arboretum! Let your little one spend the week exploring our woodlands with an naturalist/educator. We’ll discover different topics from bugs to birds and even get to meet some Arboretum animals! This is for Turtle Tot ages only, pre-registration, Membership and health forms required.

3-day June Mini Camp:

Three-day session from June 20th-22nd, 2016
Turtle Tots
: 9:00 AM- 12:30 PM Ages (3½-5)

Take advantage of school’s early dismissal and join us at the Arboretum! Together we’ll explore the many trails and animals of the Arboretum, play games and much more! For ages 3.5-5 only. Children must be able to use the bathroom alone. Health Forms and Membership required.

One-week sessions from June 27th – August 19th, 2016
Turtle Tots: 9am-12:30pm OR 1:30pm-3pm (Ages 3½-5)
Explorers: 9am- 3pm (Entering 1st Grade – Entering 3rd Grade)
Hawks: 9am-3pm (Entering 4th Grade – Entering 5th Grade)(Hawks only offered select weeks)

Each week of Nature Discovery Camp will explore a different nature theme. Campers will spend the day exploring that theme through guided investigations, hands-on exploration, and outdoor activity. Please bring a lunch and snack and dress for the outdoors!

Health Forms

If your child is participating in any of our weekly classes (Turtle Tots or After school Clubs) or camps, please be sure to have a health form completed and given to us by the first class. This ensures the health and safety of all of our participants!

Parent/Guardian Handbook

Please read through our Parent/Guardian handbook for useful information about Arboretum program rules and procedures. All program participants need to sign and return the agreement (found on the last page) two weeks before the start of a camp and/or Arboretum program. Cancellation Policy

Registrations are accepted in the order they are received. All cancellation requests must be made in writing. Cancellations must be made 2 weeks prior to the start of the program. Refunds will be made except for a $50 non-refundable deposit. Cancellations made after the program begins will require a doctor’s note for a refund minus the non-refundable deposit. All returned checks received will be charged an additional $50 fee deduction for bank charges. CHA has the right to cancel any program and CHA will refund the full amount that was paid.

Job Opening: Summer Camp Environmental Educator

Duration: June 23, 2016 to August 19, 2016 (8 weeks)
The Cora Hartshorn Arboretum (CHA) is looking for enthusiastic educators for our Nature Discovery Summer Camp.  This is a hands-on, field position that involves teaching and managing campers in outdoor, environmental and recreational activities.  Summer Camp Educators must be committed to work with the CHA staff for at least 3 training days and 8 day-camp weeks (Monday to Friday).
