Holiday bucket list: fun and unique winter activities in North Jersey

Tradition is nice and all — but sometimes it’s fun to do something a little different to spice up the holiday season. We’ve found some unique ways to take in all of the holiday cheer, like spending the night at a museum (sans kids) and searching for fun and unusual stocking stuffers at an offbeat flea market or running in the cold of winter in your best Santa hat.

Check these off your holiday bucket list.

Hike with hot cocoa

Need a break from sitting at your desk and shopping in stuffy malls? Get some fresh (and cold!) air and exercise by checking out Cora Hartshorn Arboretum’s third annual hot chocolate hike weekend.

Clear your head, get your body moving and even learn a thing or two about nature and cap off the day with a hot chocolate by the fire in the historic Stone House.
